Snow Equipment Buying/Pricing Need info and value on this blower

Guys

I'm trying to get some info on this 3 point snow blower. Tag says Barfoot's Welding & Machine. It measures 78" wide and 30" tall. My girlfriend's brother owns it and he'd like to sell it. It looks like it's in good condition everything moves nice and free. The augers are nice and straight. PTO shaft is good. He'd like to know how much it's worth.

Hello Sam,

I would check the oil level and change the gear oil, grease the bearings, PTO shaft halves, oil the driven auger chain, then hook it up and run it for an hour AT the 540 R.P.M., engine setting before I offered him $500.00 for it.

If everything is still in good shape running it for an hour at the 540 R.P.M., engine setting will make you happy and him $500 wealthier.

You have some serious sand blasting and painting to do or have done and that expense would be worth the cost of the snow caster.

Before i bought my new blower I spent a couple of years going to every farm auction within two hours of me looking for one. The average selling price for( apparentely) good working blowers in the 66 to 80" size range varied from $800 to $1200 . I bet if you wait until the first three foot snowfall this price will go up. ..Craig
