I have a chance to buy a used 47 backhoe for $4,100 in excellent condition. I know it's not a heavy duty backhoe like the 48 or 448. Just want to hear from some 47 backhoe owners about their experiences with it and what it can and can not do. Also if there would be any trouble attaching it to my 3520.

I absolutely love mine. It's a matter of just 3-4 minutes to mount or dismount it on the sub-frame (early 90's 4400). Only trouble I had with it was a cracked/broken plate that attaches one operator lever to the hydraulic valves (1st & 2nd pics). No big deal, took about 10 minutes to make/replace. So far, all I've used it for is to plant 18 trees (3rd pic), & bury some concrete, maybe 2-3 hours seat time. Once you get a feel for the hydraulic controls, it's not too hard to operate, but getting two functions on the same stick to run smoothly is a challenge! Down here in southern NJ, the ground is soft, mostly sandy loam & sand, so I can't say how it'll work on rocks & such.
