Hey fellas , I am looking to purchace a 20-28hp grey market tractor . I have a few questions that I hope can be answered first . I once had a ym2000 2wd that was a great tractor and am leaning towards another .
The tractors primary roll is to mow the yard and bush hog the fields and plow the garden on the 12 acre place. yester day while using my dads new holland tc29 with a 5ft box I noticed that when loaded that the machine didn't steer all that well leading me to believe that I might consider a 4wd machine for my next tractor so here are my questions, I will be using 4ft implements except for the finishing mower which is 5ft.
I will be purchasing most probably through one of the auctions in the area.
1 Is the 4wd systems reliable/durable , is it selectable (2/4wd)
2 Do 4wd tractors tear up the yard all that much more.
3 I am familiar with the ym series yanmar tractors what about the fx series (ie fx18,20 ect ) what are the differences besides the open floor boards.
4 Are simular tractors as reliable such as mitsu, Ieski and such.
5 I like the 2cyl , are there any draw backs to these engines
