I have a website where I post videos for new tractor owners and here's a link:Ask Tractor Mike - Farm Tractor TrainingAsk Tractor Mike – Farm Tractor Training. I'm committed to trying to post one new video each week, which goes through a ton of material. If any of you have time, please look at my website and if you have additional ideas for videos, please let me know. This website is for folks that are new to tractors and tries to teach the basics, the stuff us farm kids learned growing up from our dads. It's all an effort to give back to an industry that I've been involved in for about a quarter century and to try to help the folks who are out shopping for tractors for the first time have an unbiased friend they can get good information from, and to keep them safe. Again, I appreciate any and all comments!

Hi Mike,

checked out your website. Watched half a dozen videos. Great stuff for first time tractor buyers.

When sharing information like you are doing it's critical that it's accurate. In your "Tractor Ballast" video you state that cast weights at $1 per lb are comparably priced to fluid in the tires. Big error there. Research that a bit more and let me know what you find out. :)

Mike,

I have watched a couple of your videos -- good job!!!!!

Regarding ideas for future videos, TBN gets a fair number of questions from members who want to get into hay making. I suspect it would take a whole series of videos -- mowers, rakes, tedders, balers, etc.

Good luck with your venture.

Steve,

Thanks, I'll put that on the list. Instructional-type videos is probably what you're suggesting, right? The basics of how to use each tool would be pretty easy to put together. I'll put that on the list for hay season. Great idea!

Yes. I don't know if it's feasible, but videos on what to look for in used hay equipment (similar to your video on buying a used tractor) would be useful, as chances are "hay hobbyists" aren't going to be buying new equipment.

Mike, I've watched a bunch of your videos and I have found them pretty useful as a new tractor owner (2 years 200 hours). I especially found your "how to hook up a 3ph" very useful - I've noticed a severe reduction in swear words lately.......

I agree with the "how to do haying" comments, it all seems like black magic to me.

Thanks!

Mike perhaps a Tutorial on the many different things you can do with a FEL and the dangers of carrying a loaded FEL up high especially on rough or sloped ground leading to tractor rollovers. I would not expect you to actually turn over your tractor as a finale of the video, but some stern warnings about going around with the bucket up would be enough.:)

Hey Mike,

This is a great idea...thanks for helping the newer folks! If you haven't already, you may want to take a peek at the videos Everything Attachments have on their site....lots of good info on how to use various implements.

How about a tutorial on grapple use? If need be you can come down here and use my Kioti and EA grapple for the demo. Move some rocks and logs and we can cut down some limbs if we need to:thumbsup:
