Need input on a Diesel \"in bed\" fuel tank setup

Cannot really find a right place here for this but figure you construction guys will have more experience with this than most. And a Moderator will move it if I got the wrong place.

Ok help me out here. Designing one of these for my Biodeisel program to transfer fuel around from place to place.

Here is what I going to do so far:

This pump:

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&productId=200121024&R=200121024

This tank:

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&productId=200306745&R=200306745

And since that pumps pickup tube slides down to 22" and this tanks bottom is showing as 20 1/2 inches I guess I am going to have to trim that tube a bit. But how much above the bottom should I have it pick up? And or should I slot it or something? Slant cut it?

And then I guess I should filter the stuff right? So I was going to do both water cartridge and then particulate filters. I figure spin on was best out in the back of the truck.

So these two assemblies:

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&productId=910858&R=910858

and...

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&productId=910812&R=910812

Is that overkill? Not enough flow for that pump? Found one rating of like 13gpm. And the pump is showing 15 but I figured that max and the difference would not burn it up I should think? And should I filter before pump or after? It would be easier to filter it after but... I suppose I can construct some sort of offset or something and have it before it hits the pump. Would rather have it in the delivery hose though. Whats the though here?

I might want to use this fuel in the truck its mounted in as well. And in the promotional vehicle for the program. So it needs to be tight and clean.

Anything else you can think of I need. Venting and its filtration or something?

Thanks in advance guys and gals.

I would look for a bigger tank. 45 gallons is pretty small. The typical pickup tank is just over 100 gallons and shaped like an L so that it comes up as high as a bed rail mounted tool box which rests on top of the lower leg of the L. Should be cheaper too.

Indeed did think on it. But I do not plan on needing to haul much fuel for this little support vehicle. It uses a 6 gallon tank. And since I making it in batches I wanted to keep it fresh. And do not want to take up any more bed space than nessicary. So this one allows me to tuck it behind the tool box and only space it out 9 inches. But your certianly right in most case.... most would be filling a piece of equipment that needs more volume than my situation. And it is about the same price actualy to do those. Just more space is used in the bed. I currently use that under the toolbox space for a spill kit and some other odds and ends. This keeps me from losing that.

What's your formula for making biodiesel ? Would a stabilizer additive increase it's shelf life?

I am Methanol/Hydroxide catylist reacting it.

Yes indeed some additives will be used. Some things like stanadyne or something. Biocyides, lubricity and Cetain booster probably for certain. I got to wait until I get some analysis back before I do any calculations on additives though. Or add any. I am just now cranking up all the equipment set up at this point.
