Just bought a Massey Ferguson 240 The tires are not great so in the future, I plan to replace them. Since there are few dealers around here, where is best place to buy? Several questions....are Starmaxx tires decent? Should I go with a ribbed front tire (which is what's on it) or a lugged? I'll, put R1's on the rear. What brands to consider for occasional use? I know Firestones are great, but would rather spend less. Are any cheaper brands decent?

I had Firestones on my 35, they were great. Goodyears on the 231s, all but worthless.
If your going to mow go with 4 rib tires, on tight turns a 3 rib will tear up the grass.
Can't answer for the other brands.
While you've got the tires off the rims check them out, remove any rust and repaint. Use methanol for ballast. If they are 13.6x28s you should get about 45 gallons in each one.
My new 2615 has Titans on it after some mowing I've found the R4 rears could use more tread.
Check out tirerack they might have more info than I.
