Hi all,
In today's local "bargain paper" there was listed a 5' , 3pt. blower.
I called and struck a conversation with a nice old fellow. He said it had only been used 4 or 5 times.
He had it on a 2wd, 30 hp Kubota. He said because of the 2wd it was tuff to handle because it was over 600 lbs.
Well, he went a bought a 40 hp Ford with a front blower, at 77 yrs old his neck got stiff looking back !
He called it a "Provost" but he must have meant Pronovost.
I don't know anything about them. I checked their site but the weight he told me didn't match the width.
Are they any good and what would be a fair price ?
Sorry to be a little long winded...
Thanks,
GrayBeard

I bought a 72inch Pronovost Puma for my L3010. Its a perfect match for the tractor power, and we get some pretty big snowfalls here in the mountains.
Pronovost has several models available. Mine is not the heavy duty machine, so I recognize its got its limits. I just have to be careful not to pick up rocks with it.
I bought mine new in Quebec for $1250 2 years ago. Still looks like new after two Canadian winters.
The weight you see may not match the width depending on hydraulic actuator options for chute swing and angle.
I used a rear blade and FEL for years, but I love having the new blower. Makes a much neater and faster job.

I have a 64in Pronovost Puma with a hydraulic chute rotator. Good solid product built to take a beating and last. The fan blades are quite close to the fan shroud which causes less jamming from stuck rocks. Needless to say, I am extremely pleased. BTW, I paid $2000 for it this past fall.

ask the guy what he wants for it then offer him 20% below his asking price.

Depending on when he bought it it might even be the commercial unit if it was a few years ago. Many people will round the numbers down or up when talking widths. They do have a 64".
