Need Opinions On Tansem Dual Gooseneck

I need a 25 foot goose neck with tandem duals. Found a PJ. What are your opinions of this brand? Which are the better brand and why? Thanks.

You would be hard pressed to see the difference in features and design in any of the trailer brands. imo.

For the trailer you are looking at, it is well worth it to get the low profile running gear. Makes everything much easier to load and work on. Stability goes up slightly, and your load is more out of the wind as well.

I had a 25' with a 5' BT. It was 25,000# GVWR trailer with tandem dual 12,000# axles but weighed about 6,200# empty so it would haul about 19,000# legally. I hated the dual tandems. If I had to do it over again I would take a tri axle trailer with 8,000# axles. The duals were a pain for me. It just made everything so much harder to work on.

I sold the trailer back in about 2004 and went to bumper pull. Just really did not need that much capacity very often and I can pay guys around here the few times I need something that heavy hauled that my 18' BP will not handle.

As for brands there are lots of good ones out there. Just look at the paint, wiring, tires, welds, ect and it will tell you a lot about the trailer.

PJ's are very popular and the hotshotters here S.Tx seem to like them. I know when I got out of Hotshotting they were considered among the best around here. Never have owned one personally though. Ditto in Diamondpilots advice on paint and construction, not all trailers are equal.

PJ makes a good trailer. I hauled two stacks of their trailers out to West Texas on their 25 ft tandem goosenecks. They pulled nice and smooth. Some of the on-deck trailers were custom built and all were ordered by a drilling company, including the tandems. I've been looking at their new Low-Pro 16' dump myself.

What are you going to haul that needs dual tandems?

I have a PJ 28 ft + 5ft dovetail with dual axle singles and can haul any of my utility tractors or haul 256 bales of hay without a problem...

Well, I need a dual tandem. I haul 18-22 4x5 round bales and each bale weighs ~900 lbs. That's 16,000-18,000 lbs. Gotta do it 20 times per year. Then I also haul a 8 ton dumptruck on it, too. Can a 2-axle single tire trailer carry that? Not without being overloaded.
Maybe the OP needs to carry more weight......not everyone has the same needs

Well...if you haul a lot of round bales that'll do it...

Out of curiosity what does your tongue weight max out at when you are loaded with those round bales?

What kind of tow vehicle are you pulling with/
