Need Part for JD 261 groomer Mower

I've just finished dissasembling the Curtis gearbox on my old '88 Deere 261 grooming mower. It had a leaking seal and I think I have found out why. The lower spindle is a bit pitted where the seal would be. Of course the part is no longer available from Deere or Curtis. Does anyone have an old 261 mower gear box or parts that they will sell?

Thats what "speedy sleeves" were made for, take your shaft and old seal to your local bearing supply house or a good big NAPA and you'll be back in business a whole lot cheaper

Take the pitted shaft, clean well, apply JB weld, smooth with 400 grit sand paper, install new shaft and your good to go.
