need parts for jd 855

does anybody have or know where I can purchase a used alternator and power steering cylinder for my 1988 tractor. been looking on e-bay,but nothing came across. any help would be appreciated.

Just have your alternator rebuilt. Should cost about $100.00 at a reputable shop. Just had mine rebuilt for a 1983 JD 2040 and they had all the parts in stock for the Bosch alternator and I got it back in a day. My John Deere dealer also had both a New and a Rebuilt unit that I could get within a few days but they were much more than the $100.00 for the local rebuild.

As far as the Power steering unit I would think a John Deere dealer would have a rebuilt unit and a rebuild kit with new seals etc. if you want to do it yourself.

Anyways, these parts should all be available from the John Deere dealer in one form or another.

no,i'm thinking for the kind of money their asking for new,for I have that's old, I would try to find something used to compare. so far no luck.

there's nothing to start with, he would have to first buy the two end castings then fill everything inside with new. better off going to dealer and buy.
the power steering I'm talking about is the cylinder only. it wasn't built to take apart, but to be tossed away.
