The 3 point on my tractor wasn't working, so I pulled it apart and found the roller in the pic below (red arrow) was missing and in the bottom of the case. I put it back together, but I don't know if its right. Can anyone tell me exactly how this goes back together or show me a pic of theirs or an assembly drawing?

thanks,

Is it working now? It looks like you put it back in the right place. Just a note. Looks like possibly some water in your oil from the picture. Check your shift boots on top to see if they need replaced. A common problem when the boots get old.

Edit:
If you change the oil. There are two plugs that need to be remove. One in the rear and one in the middle. The tranny and hydro use the same sump. About 8 gallons. See your local dealer, TSC, etc. Also there is a hydro filter in that oil you may not be able to see with the fluid in it. Since it looks like you have some contamination in your oil an oil change could be needed. Also change or clean the hydraulic filter which can shut down the hitch if clogged. That filter is accessible thru the area shown in the picture.

there was a ton of water in the oil. I have drained it, I just didn't want to re-fil it before I knew if it was back together right or not . thanks for the advice. I had not seen a hydro filter in the case. I will check it out.

you've got to be kidding me.... I've been looking for HOURS for a pic like that and its right there!! :confused3:

thanks for the help!

one more question. Is there supposed to be something that holds the fork together? We were thinking about putting a cotter pin through a set of holes below the roller. There just isn't much tension to keep the roller in there.

Here's a good photo of the entire pump assembly which also shows the filter I mentioned that you should change. Sparex part# S.41450 The PTO selector cover Sparex part# S.3352

Note in the picture the roller arm you just fixed which will give you an idea where the filter is. If it is wired so the top won't unscrew. that wire will have to be cut. There is also a rubber O ring to watch for. Make sure it doesn't fall down into the pump. The filter can get clogged up and the lift will quit working.

g'day 383ss.
The reason the roller was lying in the bottom is you don,t know what you are doing It,s as always best to buy a manual or ask BEFORE You start TEARING IT DOWN.
So Drain the oil ,look at the photograph of the pump and find the small rollers AND the spindle and the pin and clip that was RIPPED out when you removed the lift cover and reassemble as per photograph.
Same as scott 1----------9 He has pulled everything to bits and FOUND The spring and the lift cylinder FALLING of again someone else who did not feel the need to ASK Before Ripping things to bits You ask for advise then go and do stupid things What is it you are looking for on this website or are you time wasting!!!!!!!!!!.
Pissed .

goto AGCO Parts Books and log in as QUEST. Type in your model and make. Lookup the page of the parts your trying to identify. That would be the PTO selector cover assembly. That site will give you an exploded view of that area. Take some advice and not judge Hutch. He is an expert IMHO on vintage Massey Ferguson's. He's simply saying ask for directions before getting lost and pay attention to the directions or you will stay lost. By reading and lurking here, one can learn a tremendous amount about tractors if they pay attention. Don't be afraid to ask a question, but don't insult help that's offered.

Just some advice. If your doing this blindly, then leave it alone, you'll make it worse. Also, if your going to keep that tractor awhile. Invest in AGCO's parts and service manuals. They are invaluable. G'day
