HI, I have been posting pictures on these forums using pic resizer.I DONT KNOW WHAT IVE DONE ,BUT IT KEEPS NOT WORKING,SAYING ITS TOO MANY BYTES.It worked before but not now.first i select my picture where it says load picture.then i click apply reccomended, and then save.this has worked in the past but wont now.I have even tried the long way, selecting 25% and jpeg whatever that means.I HAVE A KODAK easy share,i dont know if im doing something wrong with it or not.I can see the pics great, and have them on my computer, but cant seem to showem off to the forums. Before i abandon this pic resizer i thought one of you might use it and know what im screwing up.

Check your photos and see what the original size is when you are taking the pictures. My camera has different settings as to the resolution. I take pictures in low resolution to keep the original size down to a manageable situation. If the picture is too large, I use PIXresizer to make them smaller. Sometimes it will take more than one try to get them under the limited size allowed by TBN. It is a matter of math. If the original is too large, then even 25% of the original might still be too large to post. My guess is that somewhere along the way, you or someone else that uses the camera has changed the original settings that you used to use. One trick that I have tried with limited success is to use PIXresizer at 25% and then load the resized picture and resize it again.

Alan,

I had the Kodak EasyShare software also, and I didn't like it either.

I use Microsoft's Picture It! for all of my digital photo editing. It's a snap to resize photos with it. If you've purchased a computer recently that came with Microsoft software, Picture It! should be included. If not, I believe you can get for about $44.00 or so. Check Microsoft's website to get more information. You probably could even download it from there.

Good luck! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Which version of PIXresizer are you using?

As Junkman suggested, your camera itself may have somehow gotten re-set to some higher resolution, thus causing the problem. If that proves NOT to be the case, I would proceed to un-install PIXresizer [START > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs], and then download the latest version from website and re-install. Your current version may have somehow gotten corrupted, and the un-install/re-install seems to cut to the chase in these problems.

Let us know how you fare.

There is no need for high resolution for what I will call junk pictures. These are pictures that you don't care if they show every detail. If you were taking family pictures and were thinking that some of them you might want to print and frame, then the quality is important. If the pictures are for TBN, the lowest quality is going to be good enough. We are not going to hang your pictures on the wall, no matter how good looking you think you are. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Right. Just as Junkman outlined. Take a few shots w/ setting at "good," and see how large the resulting image file is. It should be no more than a few hundred KB. That way, it can be reduced easily to the 100 KB max for TBN.

I use IFRANVIEW, start out at 1280 x something, downsize to 45% and never have a problem with it. easy to do, but does not have a lot of frills.......but I am too old for frills anyway.
