Need plans for PHD stand/cart

Purchased a PHD for my tractor and would like to build some sort of stand/cart for storage.When not used,I could roll it off to a corner of my building,out of the way.Has anyone made something like this? Give me some ideas. Thanks

Try a search, I know that somebody here has made a phd stand similar to mine, but it is on a cart so that it can be rolled into a corner like you want to do.

OK Brian, you got some explaining to do about what you have going on in that picture...

You just buried trucks or trialers for storage space? Camo paint?

I used Birans idea for my PHD stand, it works so why not. It's outside and out of the shop so it's not taking up floor space.

The half buried trailer trick;
a) Gets the floor at ground level, so there is no need for a ramp.
b) Leaves the wheels and landing gear on, in SOME towns this means they are still "trailers' or "vehicles", i.e. not considered permanent, not considered buildings, etc. This means they don't get hit with real estate taxes.

I've considered it, but if the town passes a blight law I think they would have to go - and once IN, they're probably difficult to get OUT.
B'sides, once you've had 'em for a few years, where would you put all the accumulated stuff that you only have room for because you have the trailers ?

In my neck of the woods, semi trailers are usually quite a bit less $$$$ than sea containers, thus I have some semi trailers that we store our equipment in. I painted them to blend in with the 8'-10' tall brush that used to be in the area. You didn't see the trailers from the road unless you were really looking for them. But then the National Guard started the Pines fire back in 02 and burned a lot of us out, well, there went the brush. I have since repainted them to blend in better with the current surroundings. Some day I will have a barn that most everything will fit into.

As far as getting the trailers out of the ground, we actually had to do just that last year. We were moving some property lines around and the county said that the trailers had to go. Took about 8 hours for 4 trailers. Asked if they cared where we put them, and were told that as long as they were off the property in question, that they didn't care. Moved them next door onto my brothers property until boundaries were moved and then moved them back. Stupid, stupid, stupid, but it made the county happy.

I saw one somewhere on this forum that a company sells and thought I might have enough stuff laying around to make one like it.I used parts of a weight bench [getting too old for that] ,some square tubing,a couple of weight bars for the axles, a cap for welding tanks I bought at T.S.C. this holds the tip of the augar, 4 wheelbarrow tires and four tie down straps.I also used the steering part from an old snapper riding mower .It works great .I can keep the unit in my barn out of the way and when I need it can move it anywhere inside or outside to hook it up to mt tractor.

I bought one when I bought the PHD ... but now I have it hanging from the rafters and use a chain hoist to get it up out of the way and like that a whole lot better. My grapple lives under it so I'm storing 2 in the space of 1.
