I left a message with W-Kentucky tractor salvage but figured i'd try here also. I took my radiator to be roded out but they said it "needs a new core" ($200+) so here i am. Any one got one, or know somewhare else to look? I'm in kansas city KS.

Get the new core. You be glad you did in the log run. The new core is like a new radiator.

I found (aftermarket?) rad for $285 at Tractor parts inc. Lot of $$$ but I would expect much better than mine hacked together by this guy at shop. Maybe he can fixit up just fine, I've just never used him before and dont like what ive seen of his work, so far.

just ny opinion but, it you have yours fixed atleast you'll know what you have . If you buy the used one , you might have to get it rebuilt also Unless ,you can have it checked b-4 buying.I would b careful as of this after market comes from china & I wouldn't expect it would be as good as the oem

Have you priced the OEM? $410.43 is the last price I have and that is over a year old. We have had no problems with the aftermarket radiator so far, nor do we expect any. We routinely replace problem radiators with new...we simply do not recore anymore. The pricing is too close.

That's the same, ($285), + shipping as Hoye gets for a new one, (probably aftermarket). Radiator shops don't usually stay in business very long by hacking stuff together.

There are several aftermarket radiators available for your YM2000, we have sold and replaced radiators that were built in Turkey and China with no problems. The radiator that is built in China looks a lot better than the one from Turkey and that is the one we have in stock. There are other aftermarket radiators built for the YM2000, but I have had no dealings with them.

If I were going to buy after market.I would buy the ones that danny, wayne or hoye sells since they have used these brands & have had no problems. I was speaking of the after market ones that no one has experences with.

I agree. Buy one from a dealer who has been using them. Or save the $85 and get a new core for yours. I'm not sure which I'd do in the same situation.

To me it would depend on what $200+ means, and if the shop looks busy. $200 plus what, plus tax, (do they have a lot of business and give good warranty), compared to $285 plus shipping.

Bugyman, just a follow up on your YM240D, the radiator part number was changed @ engine S/N 820229 and the parts book says they won't interchange. The newer one is $88.00 more than the old one, but I don't know what the difference is. Point being, if your engine s/n is above 820229 the after market radiator may not fit. The new one also uses different top, bottom, and bypass hoses.

Ken, the reason I didn't post that before was because I ( forgot ) where my YM240 parts book was.
