Need small diameter grease gun head OR longer fitting

I have a regular grease gun fitting that is in a recessed locaton and I cannot get a grease gun on it. I looked for a small-head (small diameter) extension like they used to sell but no dice at NAPA. I did buy a small-head extension that you just press on the end of the fitting in a surface-to-surface way but grease goes everywhere.
I could also get by if I could find a regular -straight only---size small grease fitting that is longer than normal and then it would reach beyond the recessed hole it sits in. I didn't search yet in hopes someone here can offer the info. This not a foreign piece of junk but rather high quality American with this one particular oddity.

Does anyone know if a small-diamer lock-on grease gun extension is still available OR does anyone know if a longer than normal standard size SAE thread grease fitting is available?

Have you tried a needle tip on your grease gun. You can poke the end of the needle into the center of the zerk and usually get it to take grease.

I routinely use pipes to extend fittings out for easy access. Vibration may be an issue though, or a rotation problem.

In one sense it might by trying to needle the grease into the pushbutton opening. They used to make a small diameter grease head that is what I would like to find. Maybe I'll just make one by grinding one down. Thank you.

I have seen some grease guns with a coupler that is verry large and that might be your problem. Lincoln makes the smallest dia. coupler I have found .

go to a John Deere dealer and ask for JD7813 it is a straight grease fitting about inch long with a 1/4-28 threads, it is used on the rear axle of a JD 6600 combine,
the spec, below says it made by Lincoln and the number is given, and the cost is about $1.55 at my dealer,

BHD--thanks for the effort and I'm checking it out. I can access JD parts so I can look.
Bill--There is a difference between the largest diameter grease gun head and what is now called the standard head but there used to be a very small diameter slip-on adapter that fit, now tht I remember, between the yokes of a u-joint when tilted and hard to access. I am going to call Lincoln today.
Since you are a car guy, this is for a street rod I just finished and the front king pin grease fittings are recessed just a bit and difficult to access. I am first a tractor guy but here is the car photo...it came out better than I expected. A small head adapter would have many tractor and equipment applications as well.
