Need smallest trade for new Rtv 500

Hello everyone. Just joined here. I was hoping someone could help me? My wife got me a Kubota RTV500 for Christmas. I'm needing the smallest trailer possible that I can use to haul the rtv behind my truck. I'm looking at some fold away and kit trailers. Any suggestions/reviews?

Tide welcome to the forum. That is a heck of a nice gift. Happy Holidays! Not sure what to tell you on trailer size but I would start with the spec sheet in the owners manual. That should tell you the width, length and weigh. Shouldn't be hard to match a trailer after that. I'll bet the fold away trailers don't have the size and capacity you need.

I'm of no help on the trailer, but you can haul the 500 in the bed of your pickup if it is full sized.

The 500 is pushing 1500 pounds. I'm not sure there are any fold away kit trailers with that capacity. I also did a rough measurement on mine, it was over 9 feet from end of box to front grill guard. They advertise the 500 will fit in the bed of a full size truck. Whether its a 6 foot bed or 8 foot bed, who knows. It may fit in a 6 foot bed if the trucks tailgate is left down. I haven't tried it in the back of my 6 3/4 foot bed yet.

The photos on the Kubota site show the RTV 500 in what appears to be an extended cab Chevy (or GMC?) pickup with the tailgate raised. However, the RTV does not appear to have a brush guard.

I hauled mine on a Big Tex 5X10 trailer. The size was perfect. Left just enough room to tie it down and balance the load. Not sure I'd really want to try putting it into the bed of a pickup...I don't trust the tailgate cables enough to try it. If one of those broke, that would hurt pretty bad.

To me the answer would depend on how far you need to haul it and at what speed.
Long distance or interstate travel and I'd want something a little oversized.
Just down the back roads I wouldn't need much more than two wheels and a floor large enough for it to fit on.

5x10 with 3500# axles... Watch out for some of the smaller trailers because they may have smaller weight capacity axles... they may be borderline OK for your RTV500, but there will be that time when you want to haul something else that may weigh a lot more.

I haul mine on a 6X10 trailer with 3500 lb axle. You could get by with a slightly narrower trailer but I like having enough width to step onto when getting out of the buggy. I wouldn't go any less than 10' on length if you're getting a landscaping type ramp gate trailer so you don't need to mess with separate ramps. With my RTV 500 pulled on front first I've got around 6" in front of my front tires and about the same between by back gate and the bed. When I'm hauling my RTV 500 it always seems to walk a hair this way or that even with it strapped down tight so I wouldn't want it any tighter fitting on the trailer. If you don't want a ramp gate in the back you could always let the bed overhang and get by with a foot shorter trailer.
