Hi all. I have an in-swing entry door.
I had an issue installing it due to the tile being higher then the threshold. I am still having that issue.
I hired a person to come in and fix the issue. What he installed was an automatic door sweep.
Well it scraps on the tile and the first night it was in a mouse came and tired eating through it. After one year its falling apart. I want to fix this right and I want it weather tight.
Is there a product to raise the threshold or a way that you would fix it to avoid the rubbing on the tile? I am a bit lost on what I need to fix it. I have a new automatic sweep to fix the broken one but it seems like a temporary fix.
I appreciate any advice or product links that work.
thanks again!
Here are the pictures,

There is a type of door sweep that activates upon close so it doesn't drag on the floor. It pushes against a plate on the hinge side to move it slightly which, due to the mechanism inside it pushes it down at that point. So it won't drag across the floor as it raises up once you swing the door a little and break contact with that plate. Some of those just screw onto the face of the door, but I think I have seen a type that recesses into the bottom edge of the door so it is concealed.

Otherwise, find a threshold that you can install with a better/higher/adjustable gasket.

You will have to raise the threshold, it's the only way to do it right. Take out you're old threshold and raise it my using a spacer that you can make yourself from
wood ect. After this is done, you will have to cut the door to fit, just make sure you get the measurements correct.
Take you're time and you will be fine.
Tip, before you cut the door score it with a utility knife, this will help the door from chipping. I'm sure you already know that you cut the bottom of the door, added this just to be safe.

Thanks Duke, I was hoping I didn't have to take out the old threshold, but it would solve all the issues. The door without the automatic sweep clears the tile.
