Ok, I have a very nice 3240 with a 48" deck to mow 2.6 acres minus the house, garage, driveways, and barn. Most of my property is hillside and the top part (about an acre and a half) was used for a horse pasture by the people before us.
I've been fairly regular with keeping the yard portion cut. The Cub does a great job and it takes about an hour and a half to mow and trim with a push mower. I mowed the top portion ONCE this year (we just bought the house in March) and have been trying to get to it ever since. My PTO belt broke--delayed it--had to work two Sat. in a row--delayed it--rain has delayed it. I have to wait until it is very dry up there due to the hill side. NOW THE GRASS AND WEEDS ARE 2-3 FEET HIGH!!!!!
I think I figured out how I'm going to keep up with it, but how should I cut it now? Was thinking of cutting it tomorrow with the deck at it's highest and coming back on Sunday and cutting it an inch lower. Then maybe one evening next week (or next weekend) lower, but is this going to be harsh on the tractor?
