Hi Tim--You are correct on the bog-type going deeper--These machines tend to be a lot heavier and blades a lot bigger in diameter and the concave dish on the blades is deeper--Here is a picture of a 4 ft machine that weighs 500 lbs and 3 point hitch. If I figure right that would put 100 lbs down force on each disc blade. That should cut thru most undergrowth?? -Ken Sweet
