Need some PTO info on a YM2200

He lives down south of me. He hasn't been around since the yanmar lawsuit.

I called him not long after yanmar started all the lawsuit crap and talked to him a little while.

Danny was a yanmar dealer once and had parts books. I use to order from him

Fill me in on the Yanmar lawsuit crap.

I seem to recall reading something about it somewhere but I've got a bad case of CRS.

The short version: Years after Yanmar ended selling tractors here, Yanmar-USA lost a lawsuit from the widow of a gray market Yanmar buyer who rolled it over and died in his first week. Yanmar-USA sued and shut down the gray market importers on the basis of trademark infringement. Only Fredricks - who had a prior arrangement with Yanmar to bring their own imports up to US safety specs as part of their refurbishing - was allowed to continue using the Yanmar trademark. Non-Fredricks gray market Yanmars imported now can't use the name Yanmar for advertising, badges on the tractor, etc.


While that was a trademark dispute, Kubota was even harsher. They got US Customs to refuse entry to any Kubota not sent over by them.

Best I remember Cal. They also went after those selling parts for yanmar tractors as well

Yep they went after parts vendors as well. There were a few exceptions. The grey model yanmars are still showing up here but just under different badges and discriptions like "Japanese diesel tractor" and there are badged "YMR" tractors if i remember right. there still small shops or random guys are small lots that deal in them and some larger ones. There still the same thing as the other importers use to sell.
