Several days ago, I was going over the forums researching clearing land with a FEL. Somehow, I wound up looking at a stump bucket that attached to a FEL bucket with two chains and boomers (turnbuckles). I have spent much of this evening trying to find it again...to no avail. If someone can point me in that direction, you will be my hero!

Sounds like a terrible idea. A stump bucket is bad enough, but that much added leverage is even worse.

It probably is a bad idea, but I am just exploring options right now. I have no large stumps to pull...mostly I want to scoop out prickly pear cactus and some palmetto type plants. The tractor won't be here until next week so I will use the FEL first to see if I even need something else.

It is called a "bucket spade", use the "Google Custom Search" box at the top of the page.

This is what came up now: Search Results

And K0UA's homade bucket spade: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ons-quick-attach-post4364227.html#post4364227.

Thanks for the info. I found this, but the one I saw was a regular, toothed root bucket held in place by two chains and two boomers. It would not have the problem of dirt falling off the edges.

For that a lot of guys use a tooth bar or ratchet rake: Ratchet Rake

I found one similar here. Apparently, the Bucket Buddy is no longer made. The one I saw mounted the same way except using chains. Still haven't found it again.

If someone has a Bucket Buddy for sale, I would be interested.

A couple of years ago, I bought a Stump Grapple Bucket from CID. I have used it with my TC40DA tractor to dig and move some large stumps, dig out and push over trees and move large rocks (the tractor would not pick them up, I had to skid them around). It has been a great attachment to have.
