need suggestions for a TC33D battery

I have installed a "Battery Tender" maintenance charger on my TC34DA, the tractor sits more then it runs. A battery tender will keep the battery at full charge, and extend battery life. I have them on my HD-VROD, Tiller, and my RV batterys....Bob

Bob -- how is that different from a charger set to maintain a charged battery such as the one I have from Sears? It's an automatic trickle charge arrangement.

Where are you relative to Akron? Somehow I don't think you need a tractor in the Rubber City.

I have a new tc34da and looked at the battery after reviewing this thread. Mine has an elongated cover terminating in a clear plastic tube that runs down below the radiator compartment. Has anyone had the corrosion problem with this sort of battery?

I replaced the battery in my TC33D with one right off the shelf at Tractor Supply and it has served me well. It fit in the same area as the original one.

The optima 51R Red Top is a perfect fit in a TC33D. No modifications necessary. If you cant find a 51R, the Yellow Top (cant remember the part #) also fits.. it is slightly bigger.. it just requires a slight modification (fabrication of a little tray to sit on) but you can do it in literally 10 minutes with wood or metal. Very simple. Like I said though, the 51R Red Top is a perfect fit. Good luck!
