Ok, I have 43-16.00-20 r4's on my JD 3320. I've been researching tire chains, and theres not many offerings for my size tires. I would like the "duo grip" but the only ones I'm finding for my tires are ladder type, and I'm concerned the ladder type will fall between the lugs making them less effective.

So my question is, what other tire size is close to mine, and would those chains work with my tires? Or am I asking for troubles?

Have you contacted tirechains.com?? They were good to work with when I bought chains for my B8200. Shipping can be a bear, since chains can weigh upwards of 90 lbs. I just bought some chains from this guy- priced right! tractor tire chains but I have no idea about his sizes. He was a dealer who sold his business but kept a lot of stuff.

I have a 3520 series that have 15 x 19.5 R4's. I put a set of Aqualine MPC chains on it and they are almost too wide and I cut 3 links off the length.
I know it's a gamble. If you were between here and Buffalo I'd let ya try them on:)

I wish I was closer to ya. Thanks for the offer.
I'm also finding alot of places are sold out. Wrong time of yr to be buying chains.

After finding a picture of the chains when I first put them on, (last winter) it appears I've cut at least 6 side links off the chain. Apparently I took 3 off last year and then again cut 3 off this winter.
Here is a picture I took last winter and first put them on the tires. If I zoom in I can count at least 6 extra links. I have to run them skin tight, not much clearance on the inside of the tire or 3pt draft arms

I have the same size 43x16-20 R4's. I did buy 4 link ladder chains and they work well for me. I found a set on sale at my local TSC store (new old stock). They were longer than mine so I cut off the extra length (the width is fine) and saved the extra cross links to use if needed later. The chains I have are Peerless chains made to fit 13.6x28 or 14.9x24. They will fit your tires if you can't find exact fit chains. You just have to cut off the extra with bolt cutters, torch, cutting wheel or whatever.

This is great info. Not opposed to cutting a few cross links off. Thanks.

Another way to take up slack is to attach a piece of light chain to the side, then run it across at an angle, then again and again, maybe 4 times, and attach the loose end with a stout spring to the tire chain. It will tension nicely. Sort of like I had done with the tire chain's extra length... hopefully the concept comes thru on the photo? I too bought chains in the middle of the winter, and although these were too big, they were available, and they worked!
