I have a leak that seem to be coming from the fuel line where it is connected to the tank . It is hidden from view and if it has the same kind of clamp as it does at the bowl it is going to be next to impossible to get it off easily it seems. I probably could have left it on but the leakage is probably at the same rate as the usage, LOL!

For future reference tutorial:

needed:
Good grade 5/16"ID fuel line approx 9" long.
2 spring clamps
Heavy duty, long, 90 degree, needle nose pliers.
Small container filled with diesel fuel, 16oz should be sufficient.

The connector is under the tank so 'man hands' cannot easily access the connector. The clamp is a strange twisted wire deal that shows it was most likely original equipment.

Put out all nearby fires, stop smoking, drain the fuel tank.
Twist off the clamp with the pliers. Pull off the remaining hose from the tank and the bowl.
Place clamps on either end of the hose about 2" from the ends. with one hand find and place the hose on the tank fuel nipple and push it on as far as it will go. Then enlist the pliers to push it snug up against the tank. Again use the pliers to reduce the tension of the spring clamp and slide it over the top of the hose.

So you do not introduce air into the system!!!
Put the small container of diesel fuel on the top of the tractor, open the fuel cap
Clamp the open end of the hose with the pliers at the very end and hold it close to the fuel bowl connector.
With the other hand pour the fuel into the tank, when finished release the pressure on the pliers so fuel travels through the line. When it begins to seep out of the end push it onto the nipple of the fuel bowl.
When it is snug use the pliers again to remove tension from the clamp and push it up to the top of the fuel line and release it.
Clean up any spilled fuel

DONE! Not a common thing to do but now you know how to do it without any "gotcha" issues!
