So, is the motor that's already on it bad, too slow, too fast, too weak, or what? Because if the motor's just bad, why not just order another like it?

Another option - it doesn't look too hard to add a lower mount for the motor and use a heavy chain/sprocket speed reducer on pillow blocks if the motor's too fast and too weak to do the job as is.

It would be a lot easier/quicker to help if we weren't getting the info in dribbles instead of posting all known info in one shot... Steve

I like the look of the fork ,is this disscussion all hinging on running a tractor with an 18 gallon at pull throttle to develope 3000 lbs if so would the motor there not run slow enough if it isn't sick at a low engine RPM ,the fork doesn't look like it should require a huge amount of power ,I realize looking at that motor tells us nothing just a guess at what it should or could do.If the tractor is big enough to handle a 3000 lb. bale then it should have enough HP to move forward at a decent speed even throttled down .
