A year or so ago Tractortaylornut showed us some pictures of his neighbor Jimmy's homemade loader. I've been searching but can't locate that thread. Can't get that loader out of my mind either. It was made by cutting axles to shorten them. Question is , is it a big job to shorten axles without a lathe to keep everything straight? I am thinking of a setup that basically takes a front wheel drive and adds rearends where each front wheel would be to add mechanical advantage and slow it down. Any headsup advise from anybody that has tried would be welcome.note rearends are actually frontends from a pickup and only one side would need to be shortened so both sides are even measuring from centre of differential.
