My nephew Josh proudly displays his first deer ever. Ten pointer. Not bad for your first deer. A guy could hunt a long time before you get another 10.
Don't rightly know. We hung it up in the tree for some pictures and to wash it out, but do to the abnormally warm Nov. we are having here, (in the 60's Sunday), we didn't leave it hanging around too long. Him and his Dad loaded it up and took off with it. They do there own butchering, so I have to imagine by now most of it is already in the freezer. Or at a locker plant somewhere being made into other stuff. Bologna, pepper sticks, jerky.Nice deer and story. I got my start with the help of a great-uncle (my Dad's uncle actually). My Dad wasn't a hunter so skipping a generation I had my uncle to show me the skills. That's a nice sized buck. How much did weigh field dressed?

From a purest hunter's point of view...not only is hunting deer with dogs unsporting...it renders the meat worthless because of the adrenaline in the blood when the deer are run...I will be ready to turn the hounds out as soon as there is good light in the morning
