Guys,
I'd normally post this in the Everlast thread, but several people have asked me about when we'd have one in the US and wanted me to follow up where it will be better noticed. If it's not a good place, then the mods can move it over I am sure. I try to be sensitive about putting up dedicated threads like this.
We do have a new IGBT (not mosfet like others) inverter MIG that is 140 amps @ 35% duty cycle. This is a conventional MIG setup, not some mickey mouse design. It is setup like standard transformers, but has key advantages. This puts out a higher amperage. The transformer units like you see are usually only about 90-100 amps...even though they are rated for 140...The 140 amp is a theoretical possibility for a brief few seconds but cannot be sustained. I look for this welder to change a few minds about the capability of a true 140 amp, 120V MIG.
It is designed for MIG only, and will support an optional spool gun. Tim Robel, (some of you may remember him from other videos), has his own thing he is doing now, and he asked for an advanced copy. This is our new 120V Mig.
It will be here in about 4 weeks or so. We are already taking orders but for TBN guys, it is 379.00 shipped (plus tax if you live in the state of CA) to the lower 48. Same warranty.
We've not cheaped out on this unit as it still features stepless control and a heavy duty wire feeder. It also features the easy to connect Quick connect coupling which is easy to change out to other gun brands. It doesn't feature a digital readout and doesn't feature a choke control, but it is still a very capable welder.
