This is an edited version of a thread I tried to start last night, but as someone pointed out, I used the wrong model numbering (sorry). So, here's the post again, with the right model number. All responses appreciated.

I am planning to buy a BX2230 w/ 60" mower deck and the standard FEL, plus R4 tires. The one I will be picking up is new, but its a leftover 2005 (still in crate and plastic). He wanted 12,500 for the package, but came down to $12,000. Is that a good deal? I am new to all of this, so I want to make sure I am doing the right thing. I am supposed to go in and sign the paperwork tomorrow, so any responses today would be great. Thanks.

Thats less than I paid for an 04 model. It's a good deal.

I bought my 2230 last september. It was the same setup as this one, plus a grill guard. My price was $11,200 delivered.
For a leftover I would not go over $11,500.I also would see if you can get a grill guard included. With a fel it is almost a must.

My BX2230 is supposed to be delivered today. It was right at $13.5, including tax, with 60" mower and FEL. That was the cheapest of 3 dealers I checked.

Wow, that's nearly $1,000 than the cheapest quote I could get around here. Where did you buy yours from? What location are you at? I'll give them a call. The reason I ask, is because I did get a quote online that was comparable to yours, only to find out that in some areas of the country (where they get less snow), the navigational "equipment" (I don't know what to call it) for the FEL is not as expensive as the ones they put on here, because they assume here that you will want to use a snowblower eventually. Don't know what the difference is, but I am going to play it safe, because I will certainly want a snowblower.

Thanks for responding. I hope I hear from you before tomorrow morning.

I bought my 2230 at the end of December, it was $9,300 with 60"deck, $2,775 for the snowblower. I didn't get the FEL bought I recall seeing a 2230 with FEl for $11,500. These prices do not include tax however. These were from a dealer in Erie Pa. Don't know if this helps but there you have it anyway!

Okay, thanks. It sounds like the deal I am getting is okay, but not necessarily as good as I had thought it was. Especially because right now, Kubota is giving an extra $500 rebate for opening a credit account with Kubota. I will probably still do it, though, because nothing else has a better price around here right now. He is also giving me a few hundred dollars more for my JD 130 than I would get elsewhere.

To tell you the truth, I was kind of hoping you guys would tell me I was getting a "great" deal. Oh well, I am still excited about the new tractor.

I think it's a pretty good deal, but don't forget the taxes.

If interested I have a 2004 BX-2230 (84 hours) with FEL and 60" deck MMM (never used) for $11,500. 2 yr bumper to bumper warranty is valid until August 2006.

Hey, thanks for the offer, but I already bought a new one. To tell you the truth, if given the choice between two years old with 5 month warranty for $11,500 or new for $12,000, I would have gone new anyway. I did look at a few BX2200 on eBay and elsewhere, but even there, I was seeing 200 to 400 hours for $10,000+, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I am a complete newbie to the whole tractor thing, so if anything major goes wrong, I will be glad to have a warranty. I plan to get up to speed over the next two years, but I want a cushion while I get used to what to look out for. I plan to do all of my own routine maintenance, not only to save money, but also to get to know this new machine. Besides, with the money I save, I might be able to justify a nice broadcast spreader next spring.

Artf hold your price at that until your warranty expires. I have the exact same set up with right at 100 hours. Women ( who like to work in the yard ) love this size of a tractor. It will sell believe me. There are several local banks in my area that will finance this unit at a decent rate. Hang in there, the MMM is nice too, mine floats great, never scalps the grass. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
