Picked up a 245 with Bush Hog 2345 QT loader. Loader was removed by previous owner as soon as he bought it, so he was no help on it's operation.

Has a TS300 three position valve in front of seat. From there 2 hoses run to two 2 way valves, then on to 2 quick connects on rear fender which the loader plugs in to. The loader uses a joystick for operation. What I don't understand is the function of the two 2 way levers mounted on the fender. One is bungee strapped in the down position.

Anyone know why they are there and how to operate them? I assumed loader would just need a supply and return to operate. I know the valve in front of seat needs to be in rear position, but once lines get to the 2 way valves I'm lost. IMG_6804.jpgIMG_6805.jpgIMG_6803.jpg

I think the levers on the fender are remote hydraulics, like a hydraulic top link or any 3pt implement that uses hydraulics.

I think the levers on the fender are remote hydraulics, like a hydraulic top link or any 3pt implement that uses hydraulics.

That tractor uses the scotch yoke pump for all hydraulic functions except the power steering. The cap on the lift lever should have 3 positions. It has been toooo long I don't remember which position does what. One position enables use of the three point hitch. One position enables the fender mounted control valve. If I remember you said the loader has its own control valve that plugs into the couplers that are in the picture. If that is correct the bungee strap is used so the fender mounted valve does NOT return to neutral. Most of those type valves will center if the lever is not held in a position especially when a cylinder reaches the end of the stroke so to keep from having to reset the valve it is kept "locked". I would not keep the bungee on permanently but only when the loader is installed and the hoses connected. If the three way valve is in the wrong position and the handled is held down it could blow the relief valve constantly. If you want to use the auxiliary couplers with the loader it appears that is a two spool valve and by adding another set of hoses and couplers you could do so but the locked lever would need to be centered. Now if I could only remember how that three way valve worked. One more thing when you want to use the loader be sure the control lever for the hitch is in the constant pump position. I known the Ferguson system is a bugger to get figured out when you want to use external hydraulics but it is really not the bad. It is just that initial "learning". Hope I don't have you too confused if I do please ask and I will try to explain better.
