Having just Purchased my GT3100, (which I love so far) I am in process of designing a hyd. front lift assy. (CUBS is to expensive) which I will fit to my 46" White snowblower. That blower is belt driven which I am converting to shaft drive. As the price of a cub front drive shaft is in excess of $400 , I will convert one I found from another piece of equip., I will need to adapt the one end to the 15 splined cub shaft and the other to fit the blower drive.

Info I would like to find out.

What is the RPM of the PTO at working speed.
Does anyone have the actual spec's for the PTO splines.

Has anyone tap into the Deck lift hyd. to run a front lift mech. The cub hyd. valve that they spec.out for their front lift is the same one used for the deck lift. Right now I intend to tap into the deck lines and use the deck lift system to power my front lift assy. as the mower is off the mach in the winter.

PS: I think I got a great deal on the tractor and mower.

Why "bastardize" the Cub?? The front hitch from CCC is some $$$ granted, but it does include the hydraulic valve, lines, cylinder, and a quick hitch feature too. If you tap into the center lifting mechanism, you will be limiting the features you COULD have had by going with the CCC hitch.

I doubt if one could build the SAME features in a hitch for less $$$$ than the CCC unit......

I would have to agree since I have one and its a solid piece thats probably stronger than the machine - I doubt you could build one as nice for less - dont forget to consider the amount of time to build it and trouble shoot....

You would be better served scouting for one on ebay - which does occur but not when you need them most...both blower and hitch can be seen on ebay

of course I would never want to discourage ingenuity and someones ability but it almost never comes down to the cost savings that the "self thought and self sufficient" claim it to be.....just my observation

I can understand why the OP would like to try and fabricate something of his own. The Cub accessories are *really* expensive IMO. Good quality for sure but the prices on some things are almost silly they're so high...

Thanks for the posts so far, I just want to ensure everone that I will not "bastardize" the Cub.. If I could not do it correctly I would not do it. I respect fine equipment!

Currently I am in process of designing it on my CAD system, it will mount into the current mounting holes in the frame, and include a drive into quickmount/dismount of the blower. If I can find a blade I will also set it up to fit the quickmount,

My Background is Tool/Die maker, then Mech. Eng.
The part of the build I will have done by someone else is the welding of the assy's...I have some metal working equip, and I have a friend with the rest thatI need.

Hoping if someone will provide answers to my questions, I sent an E-Mail to CC but did not get a response.

PS: Its not a question of money, but of doing it youself...
