I've just liquidated my 4x4 2007 Gas Gator and a couple of converted electric golf carts in anticipation of buying one of the newer beefed up electric utility vehicles by the various manufacturers, and use it as a single vehicle to handle all my needs. I have found I use the electrics whenever I can, and thought I could get away with one of these newer macho electrics - something the wife could still drive - but with some muscle.

For various reasons (like where I live, Hawaii, the land I work, service availability/parts - none, needs, etc.), I have my eyes on a Cushman Hauler Pro
Hauler PRO

The 72v AC power train, optional limited slip differential. and rated payload and towing offer great specs. And I have found a seller in So. Calif. willing to offer me a great deal and help shipping it to my isolated island.

Question - there seems to be very little feedback on Cushman carts, and even less on these newer models. I know they are essentially an EZGO, and my golf carts are EZGOs - so I have worked with them and getting parts, etc. And there is a similar EZGO - the Terrain 1000 - for trails/utility.

But I would like someone with some experience or knowledge willing to share any information with me - because it would not be a cheap purchase - I would appreciate it greatly.

I'm going to watch for comments - lots of people with the Polaris Ranger EV... don't hear much about the EZGO / Cushman.

What a coincidence - I thought I had eliminated any other possibilities until I got a call today about the Polaris (really a Gem) EM 1400 - which is almost identical to the Ranger. The only difference really, I think, is that the EM 1400 is street legal.

The reason the Polaris came back on my radar is I was told by a national sales rep that it has a limited slip differential. Previously the Cushman was the only electric vehicle I could find that has it, without going full 4x4. Club Car CarryAll and Yamaha Adventurer 2, etc. does not. I really need maximum traction, so that is what has me going with the Cushman.

But I have been unable to confirm this about the Polaris in any literature. All the other specs are good or better than the Cushman. It is more money, but with 4 wheel disk brakes, slightly wider and longer, and with more payload - it is to be expected.

Does anyone know for sure if the EV Ranger and/or the EM 1400 Gem has a limited slip differential. Or do you know how power to the rear wheels is applied to the ground?

I would appreciate any testimonials, good or bad, about the Ranger. Or if anyone has had any experience with the EM 1400. And still, any comments about my original request, the Cushman Hauler Pro would be most welcomed.

Have you looked at the electric Intimidator, it has a beefy payload & is 4wheel drive. It has turf mode & can lock the rear differential.
