New ABC Series...." Last Resort " Geez is this good...here is the pilot...watch this

You Navy guys, submariners and anyone else...the link below is to a Pilot of a new series on ABC ...We just watched this ..it takes about 45 min. no commercials...about a rouge nuke sub captain....that's all I'm going to say...it was great ...even my Mrs. was glued to the screen and can't wait for the next episode...we have our DVR set to record the series....click the link below and then click the arrow to start and then be sure and hover the mouse over the bottom left of the little screen and click full screen on your computer....Enjoy.

I watched it and I liked it a lot. I was in the NAVY in early eighties and it brought back memories. Looking forward to the next episode as well.

jef...scary part is , I can see that happening given the current state of affairs in the world today...I served in the Army in the mid from '66 to '72

I would like to think it can't happen, but I'm not dumb enough to say it won't. You are right "scary". Tough time to serve and I thank you for it.

My wife and I watched it with our son who served in the Navy as well as Army, he was on a destroyer not submarine, but they had nukes on it in with their other armament. We all really liked it, especially my son as he had a station at the command and control center where the decisions to launch would have been made.

All I know about the military is from friends and family I never served.

Those of us older folks who lived through the hot part of the cold war, it is sometimes amazing that we survived without someone making a mistake, or doing something intentionally. They taught us in grade school to put our heads under our desks when the Civil Defense sirens sounded.

I remember the warning tones coming over the broadcast radio during the Cuban Missle Crisis and thinking "oh heck, here it comes...." Kennedy was either a very good poker player, or was very reckless. I tend to think Khrushchev had more sense than Kennedy.

The book/movie/play "Failsafe" was an example of what could have gone wrong.

Like Ken45101, I grew up with drills in the schools, fallout shelters, Civil Defense and began to believe I would not reach adult hood.
