Are you career Navy? I would look at resale value. I spent 21 years active duty and was lucky enough to spend 10 of those years at NAS Whidbey Island where I had a 8N and about 6 implements. Just never know where the next PCS change will be or where the detailer is going to send you next. Retired now and can fill my barns, sheds and garages full of stuff cause I'm not going anywhere any more!

I see you are in Virginia. Are you near Va Beach?
I looked at a Farmtrac today. I just get more confused the more I look. I like the reputation of JD, and K'bota. However, the price of the other tractors makes my bank account feel better. Yet, I don't want to get something that is going to break every few months.

Pageland is one county to the east of me, I live in Rock Hill. You're right on the edge of the sandhills. Not far from me, but very different terrain. Shop around and see what kind of prices you can get on the JD990 or Kubota L4400.

Do you plan to buy the tractor in SC? If so, let me know and I can give you the names of a few dealers here in York and one in Lancaster (right next to Chesterfield). The one in Lancaster often has a good selection of used machines.

And if you want me to, I can check the local places and see what they have used on the lots. I know some folks at the Kubota and JD dealerships. The JD dealership is very close by.
