Kubota B7510
Thanks to the members here I finally decided on a Kubota B7510 (after taking a couple years to convince my better half) and had one delivered on friday with a 302 loader and Bush Hog SQ480 rotary cutter.

So far I've only got about 6 hours of seat time but I've gotten a lot done around here (at least it seems like it), filled a 100 foot power line trench, various clearing, mowing, moving downed logs and stumps, etc.

Now I just need to resist the urge (I'm not trying to hard) to get something bigger! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice rig.

... get something bigger... hummm, I know what you mean. I bought a BX23 last year, I changed it this Spring for a B3030 and... I resist too (again) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have to admit this is hard to stop looking for something bigger but I know (deeply inside) that what I have is enough. You know, a tractor is like a human brain, we hope for more but we don't even use what we have at his maximum.

Have fun /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Nice looking tractor! How does the 7510 handle that Bush Hog? I went through a long debate of whether to get the 7510 or the 7610 and finally decided on the 7610 for the few extra horses. I just passed the 10 hour mark and love the tractor, but there is always that urge to go bigger. The 7610 did well enough hogging my 5 acres, but I can't say I didn't wish a time or two for the B7800 while I was doing it!

Knute-

Enjoy your new beautiful tractor. Resist the urge (for now) to move up before you explore the limitations of your Kubota. It is amazing what these machines can do.

My neighbor has a BX-23 and is able to do things with it that I could not with my 7610. Much of it is about technique and with time (and pointers from him) I am making progress. Also in my situation, trees and other obstacles limit the size tractor that I would be able to use.

Thanks for the PM and picture. Enjoy!

So far no problems with the Bush Hog, but I haven't taken it through a pasture either. Mainly up and down the sides of our very overgrown driveway and an overgrown section next to our garage is the heaviest use I've put it to yet. I've attached a photo of the overgrown area.

I went back and forth about the 7510 or 7610 too, but ended up figuring that the chances of running into a task that the 7510 couldn't do but the 7610 could were pretty slim and put that $1,000 price difference into the Bush Hog instead.

I have a B7510 with a 4' Modern brand rotary cutter and it pulls it just fine.

I too have dreamed of something bigger than the 7510 but good sense tells me that the 7510 will do everything I need to do. A bigger tractor would not fit between some of the trees I take the 7510 between.

The other part is that if I got the 3 acres I am working on all finished then what would I do with the tractor? So I take my time and tell everybody that the project timeline is measured in years, not months.

Enjoy the new tractor. At 145 hours I am very satisfied with mine.

Here's the "after" view, also after the trench to the garage was filled in. I didn't get right up to the garage with the tractor, that last couple inchs I did with a weed whacker. Not quite the same angle, and with the different light (one late morning, one evening) the shadows really make it look like a different location.

I'm up near Duvall, a stones throw from Snohomish county.

We have a lot of trees up here too, and my wife wants to keep as many of them as possible so getting the smaller tractor to fit between them was a big factor.

Is the Modern brand pretty good in general? One of the small dealers down south has Modern box blades for $349 (4 foot), if they're well made I may get one of them soon too.

I have a B7500 with a 4' rotarty cutter (Fred Crain Agri-Cutter 104) and it's a great combination..... It's used once or twice (usually once) a year. Lots of big weed cutting but it took care of a patch of briars/sapplings that you couldn't walk thru and this on the side of a hill!

Got a couple little sections to clean up... A bit too steep for the little tractor so I'll use the ol' weed whacker and brush blade (any volunteers?).
