That's one cute little feller. He's brand new - no dirt or mud on him yet. Not quite time around here. I can always tell. The local coyotes really put up a ruckus after calving starts.

We have a herd of longhorns and a herd of angus. Expect 15 longhorn and 35 angus calves.

40 on the ground as of yesterday. one was a little close to the backside of mom at the wrong time. The one with the white markings on the face was sleeping, never woke up When I stood next to it.

So, I’ll show my ignorance. Do you have to get involved at all with the births or is it all natural? Do you need to provide special feed?

All natural. We don't provide anything different than what we feed the other cattle.

Same here unless there is a calf struggling that looks like it will make it with a little help. Then some colostrum. Usually the first calf of a heifer-cow that does not quite understand what is going on. Then they usually go in a pen until she figures it out.
