I am almost finished with the guardrails that I built at the entrance to the lane at the cabin property. I used the John Deere 790 to log the Rock (Chestnut) Oak and the FEL to carry the Oak beams to the bridge site. The oak is treated with copper napthanate that was recomended by the guys at the Forestry Forum.
The posts are 8" x 8" and the rails are 8" x 9" x 17' with 2" x 8" boards along the bottom. I still need to install the 2' x 8' uprights between the toeboards and the rails but they are cut and ready to install. There will be 7 uprights between the posts on approx 16" centers and I plan to finish it next week. I'll post the pictures of the finished guardrails soon.
