We've bent up our bucket pretty good. It's a 70 inch bucket on a BF900 loader. I figured we'd be out at least $600 or so for a replacement "standard" duty. Called my dealer today (C & N Tractor in Watsonville, CA), because we just can't use ours anymore (bent too bad). New standard bucket= $550, new heavy duty= $1030. "Or," the salesman says, "you could buy a takeoff bucket for a little less". What's a takeoff? A basically new bucket that a customer upgraded to something like a 4-in-1.
So, I mosey on down to see what they have, thinking it'd be one or two, and probably too small or large for my application. I get there, introduce myself to the salesman I talked to on the phone, he takes me out back, straight to the 10-15 takeoffs and says "take your pick, $300 bucks if you pay cash, otherwise $300 + tax". I asked what the heavy duty bucket cost, thinking it might be comparably priced, and he says "No, they're all $300. Which one do you want?"
I tell ya, this guy could have sold me a new standard bucket for $550. I needed a bucket bad. But he didn't. So far, these guys have shown me that they're honest, nice folks who treat customers like they'd want to be treated themselves.
