Price on it is $3500 with the loader. First, does this seem to be a good deal?

Secondly, is this the proper machine?

It will be used occasionally for moving dirt/stone, perhaps skidding logs, clearing snow, and possibly clearing a relatively small area of brush.

The area is somewhat hilly. The steepest area drops 20 ft in 500 ft.

Depends on the loader and whether it has power steering. Some of the behemoth loaders I see put on old tractors makes the whole machine near useless.

I can't tell what tranny is in it.. will either be a 4 spd ( 641 ) or a 5 spd non live pto ( 651 ) or a 5spd with live pto ( 661 ).. the 661 is the best.. but any of them will mow lawn and pickup and dump stone.

that price is inline if the machine runs good and has no major flaws.

I paid 3400 for a ford 660 ( olde rthan a 601 series ).. but had live pto.. but no power steering. had a 1-arm fel.. etc.
