new buyer

I'ver recently retired and want a loader/hoe to finish construction and do landscaping. I've given up on finding a full size construction machine at a reasonable price and am looking at new compact models. I will also need to move snow and cut grass. I've only seen Kabota, John Deere, and Massey Ferguson models. I know nothing about any of the others. Any advice is welcomed. I'd like to purchase one before the snow flies here, but don't have to have it before spring.

Lurk around and search the forums for the tasks you want to accomplish. You will find lots of advice and even a few brand wars. Just remember, the best color tractor to get is the one with the best dealer near you at the price you want to pay. There will always be something better for the task you want to do and always a way to spend more money than you have.

My new machine arrived today. The picture shows it's first scoop with the loader. It was beginner's luck as it took another three tries before I was able to fill the bucket again. The gentleman standing is the dealer who delivered it, giving advice. I put an hour on it today, doing more than a days work with a shovel and wheelbarrow. Haven't tried the backhoe yet.
