Hey, Guys.

I'm a new BX owner, and I have a brand new BX. I was clearing snow this morning when all of a sudden the tractor began losing power. I put everything in neutral and let it run, and it kept surging and slowing, surging and slowing. I stopped it and checked oil level and coolant level. Coolant level is right at the L line. Oil is fine. Air filter is clean. Any thoughts?

Additional information: It's -4 here. I'd been operating for less than 10 minutes after a 20-minute warm-up.

Thanks in advance.

Spent a few cold afternoons slurping the fish chowder in a place up to Rockland with my parents over the years. I think is was the Rockland Cafe?
Mmmmm - yum!

Are you using any anti-gel in your fuel?
Try adding some Powerservice or similar if not.
-4 is dernd cold. Almost cold as a witch's ... nose.

I think your fuel is gelling. Use some Power Service to your fuel. 1 glug per gallon.

Thanks, and, yep, it's dernd cold. :)

The tractor is still on the first tank provided by the dealer, so I have no idea.

+1 on Power Service, eh? Should I check with the dealer first to see if they already added an antigel/winterizer, or does it not matter?

A double dose won't hurt anything.

You don't mention the hours but you say it's brand new, so we can only assume very low hours.

The only other thing I can think of is the fuel tank not venting. To check that remove the fuel cap and put it right back on. If the vent is bad you might be able to hear the air rushing into the tank as you loosen he cap.

Under 5 hours. I'll try the venting as well. Thanks.
