kubota bx1850
My brother and I each bought a new bx1850 w/mmm / wght tires and loader. My brothers has 4hrs no issues ... mine on the other hand has been back to dealer for service(dealer MB tractor in NH is awesome, great experience).... My first problem was when the mower deck got stuck in the up position and it pinched the fuel wires which caused the diesel pump[ to fail, called dealer and was picked up, fixed and returned in 48 hrs.. I then cut my lawn 2x , cut is awesome and is of prof. quality( have decided the rear bagger is not necessay).. I then went to use the loader and after 15 minutes noticed that alot of fluid was leaking .. turned out to be the power steering line that got cut when the metal gear/ fan cut the line... I know these are easy fixes and minor problems, not to mention new model., it was a little aggravating especially listening to my beautiful bride who didnt want me to get it in the first place .. the dealer picked up and returned in 5 hrs. I cant recommend this dealer enough, hopefully this is the last problem, if not it will be Kubotas /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sorry to hear about your problems. If it helps you feel any better, I recently bought my BX 2230. I've put 40 hours on it in the past 3 months and haven't had a single issue come up so far.

That's great. Hopefully, all issues have been resolved. I do wonder though if some of the problems you experienced are what I call "Rev A" problems. Kubota comes out with a new model. Its mostly the same as the old model, but with minor changes all over the place. They have to adjust the manufacturing process a little, and there are bugs to be worked out. I seem to remember seeing somewhere that Kubota's Atlanta assembly plant had just started pushing the 1850s off the line about the time I bought my 2230. That was one of the reasons (although price was the main reason) I felt comfortable buying last year's model (I figured the bugs had been worked out since that model was at least two years old at this point).

Anyway, if I were you, I'd ask the dealer if they thought Kubota might offer you something for your initial hassles. I recently had some lame issues with my Honda Element. Took it to the dealer 4 times to get the same problem fixed. After finally getting it fixed, I asked the dealer very nicely if Honda would be willing to offer me something for my hassle. The dealer offered my a $50 check for the gas I used, and agreed to give me a coupon for a free service at the next interval (about $200 savings). Nice. You usually don't get what you don't ask for.

I hope everything works out for the best now. Keep coming to these forums for advice and ideas. I just realized yesterday that my front axle fluid is low. No leaking or anything. The manual suggests replacing it at 300 hours. I checked it yesterday (at 40 hours) because someone else with my model mentioned it in a post about a week ago. So, I checked. In other words, without coming hear, it wouldn't have occurred to me to check. I am glad I did. One more great thing about coming to these forums.
