New Bx1850

Just bought a used bx1850 with a 54" deck . I removed the ROPS so I can fit under some low hanging tree branches . It has a 100 or so hours and was dealer maintained with all the recalls addressed .

I must say these Bx tractors are bad ***** . Plenty of power , nimble , and just a joy to buzz around on . I bought this to replace my ailing Simplicity mower . I may eventually sell my B7500 and look for a larger B or L with a loader .

I did notice the rough reverse stop but did not find it to be that big of a deal . The plastic hood and fenders are what they are . I will say it was quite a bit cheaper then a used Bx1860's I found with comparable hours .

Looks new. I have a BX24 and have not been too bothered with the abrupt stop in reverse either, better than running over something or somebody. My old JD345 had a plastic hood and I am glad that I don't have steel on my BX as I would have damaged it when 1) a load shifted back on to the hood as I was lifting plywood to a roof, all I had to do was buff out a scratch, 2) several times I would have creased or damaged a rear fender or hood as the plastic flexes very well and has never cracked 3) beginning of each season I give it a go-over with "Gel Gloss" a product to restore fiberglass bathtubs and such. And it looks new after many years of service. And yes, they are fun to tool around in. Be careful and enjoy your new tool.

(And not "cheaper" than a newer model, but "less expensive".)

Agreed on your " not cheaper but less expensive " statement . I see why these Bx's have such a following . I am really enjoying the comfort and power of this tractor .
