New BX23 Owner

Just took delivery of a new BX23. I think I'll be very happy with it. I've learned a lot from this forum over the last few weeks.

I’m in the market for PTO chipper, log splitter (tow behind) and an off road dump trailer to move material with tractor. I've seen a few good ideas here and there. Any comments?

Sounds like you will be having some fun. I don't know about the log splitter or dump trailer, but I was looking at buying on the the Jinma chinese wood chippers to run on my BX23. Do you want just a chipper or a chipper/shredder?

For the dump trailer, I had thought of building one on my own, but frankly, I have so many current projects, I'll probably never get around to building it.

Not sure how big of a dump trailer you are looking for but Pronovost makes the P-503 which looks pretty nice. King Kutter also has a trailer (which I think is the Pronovost with a different name on it) that also looks pretty good . I think Gearmore in California also has a trailer that is very similar.

I think a chipper/shredder would be best for my purposes. Cleaning up around 1.5 acres of woods. Dead fall, leaves from driveway, walks and deck, etc. Anything over about 3” I’ll cut up for firewood.

It will be quite awhile before I’ll be building any projects. No time running a business, and I need to build a garage/shop to store the tools first.

The King Cutter is available from Northern Tool (trailer) . I think it would work for me. I don’t think I would want anything bigger. I am working in tight spaces and am also concerned with taking it downhill with load. May have to back it down.

I believe that TSC also carries King Kutter - I was searching thru some old posts about dump trailers here on tractorybynet and I think I remember somebody posting that they had gotten one of the King Kutter trailers for around $1400 - which was less than what Northern wants for it. For some reason I really want one of these trailers - I just don't think I can justify it for my 1/2 acre lot. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
