Well, I did it. Pulled the trigger on the BX2660.

Couldn't get past the "0%" and the fact I will have this for another 10 - 15 years, so I went new.

Went with R4's, 60" mmm, FEL, and plow. This should cover the core duties but I'm sure there will be other implements in my future.

Dealer delivered it yesterday, and I got a chance to cut the lawn. Got it done in half the time and with a better job than the crapman LT.

Toyed around with the FEL before taking it off to cut the lawn. I can see i"ll need some seat time to master that one.

Now the fun begins, learning the maintenance and doing some mods.

Thanks to this forum, I'm on my way. (Sorry, no picks.)

Congrats! I've had mine for 3 years and continue to be amazed at what it can handle. Since the purchase I've added a tiller and canopy. The canopy is greatly appreciated during the hot summer days, and allows me to mow during mid day without concern.
My next "upgrade" is to add liquid ballast to the rear, which will be about 85 pounds per tire.
Enjoy your seat time! It won't take long to get to the 50 hour service, which can easily be done by the owner.

Yea, I'm a DIY'er, so I've been reading the posts on doing the 50 hour check. I'll start accumulating the filters and lubes over the winter.

It's these forums, and the people who follow'em that makes DIY so much easier.

Yep, this forum is fantastic. With a little DIY skill you might never need the dealer again.

You'll love it! I'm 3 hp under you with a 2360 and what a great little machine! Not even in the same category as the "lawn tractors" I grew on.

Sounds like you've done your research but don't forget to check the front axle level after 5 or 10 hours, it tends to run low after the air pockets have worked themselves out. Most people on here recommend draining it and replacing with gear lube if you plan to use 4wd.

I am throughly amazed at what this little machine will do. It has moved many tons of dirt, rock, gravel and snow as well as mow the three acres over the past 2 1/2 years. Problem free with regular maintenance is my kind of machine. May your experience be similar. It has good stability due to its low COG, but at the same time be careful plowing. It sits kinda low for any extensive plowing. And be careful out in the wild brush or you might break the HST fan. A fan guard would be necessay then.

Congrats on the new tractor! I think I will be in the market for one similar sooner than later.

Have to look into the front axle situation. What fluid is in there from the factory? I can understand needing to add if there are air pockets, but why exchange it? Since winter is coming, I will be using 4wd. Please inform.

WIXTHEDOG: I was leaning towards the Bota from the beginning, but gave the JD and Massy some consideration. I ruled the JD out on the fact that the new 1000 series is just to new. It has allot of neat features, but I can see it needing 2 years to dial in. The Massy, it could not be found anywhere close to me. The dealers were very unresponsive. I have a buddy who lives in the farm country, and works on heavy equip. He talked to a couple dealers (massy & kubota). They said Kubota period for this category of tractor.

PSVINES: I'm hoping it never takes the trip back to the dealer.
