CG 2600
I just got my new CG2600 delivered Thursday. And broke it on Saturday :"((
. I was mowing out back when I heard an all-full cracking noise off my left shoulder. The front end lifted of the ground and tractor came to a screeching halt. When I looked back my flasher light hoop was snagged on a short branch stump. Stretched like a rubber band. Busted the light off. Not even five minutes before this happened I was looking at those Micky mouse ears wondering how long they'll last without getting whacked off. What a Bummer. Guess I'll have to tracker proof my property, just like when you brought your first child home. Does anyone know if they sell just the base of these lights. Not sure if I even need them. BTW I ripped a good pair of jeans on my bucket just to get a photo to share my heartbreak with you gents. This tractor is already costing me an arm and pant leg.

All you have to is drive near a tree on the other side so they will look the same !

Never really cared for the lights in that position, but other OEMs put them high up like that. I'd tear 'em off in a heart beat on our trees. Feel for you.

Think I'd re-locate them, if I could. Don't know what kind of a job it would be.

Otherwise, how do you like your Fergie?

Dang, what a bummer, already messed up....Mine came with all the lights already messed, up and no flashers, but it was 6 years old.. I never go near a road, nor do any dark work. It still is bad when something goes wrong..I have low limbs too, and often snag my straw hat off, it is still better than a torn scalp. Hope you can find the parts you need..

Tough lesson to learn, but a good lesson.

Any tractor (big or small) operator has got to be aware of what's around him or her. Low hanging limbs or branches can snap back from hitting the ROPS. Uneven ground can roll your tractor (did you have your seatbelt on?). Multitude of risky items to be aware of...so pay attention! Or, we'll read about you in the Safety forum.

This isn't directed toward HellBender...just happens to be the thread I'm responding to.

BTW, my first chore of the mowing season is to trim those low hanging branches. I've already been slapped upside my face and head (knocked my hat and glasses off too!). This happened more then once, BTW...so I guess I was a slow learner.

Now you don't have to worry about scratching the new tractor. :)

I bent the bracket one on the right on Friday, luckily the fence post just missed the light itself.

I hit the AC unit sticking out the dining room window with mine this spring. No damage to light or bracket but ended up costing me a new AC unit. Twisted the frame so bad the inside cover wouldn't fit on it anymore. LOL

Hey Hellbender, looks like your tractor is broke in now,. Do a search and I think you will find that someone has moved these lights to the inside of the ROPS ? Also I think someone has replaced these lights from the orange dealership because they were much cheaper ? Hope you get those ears fixed soon,. KC :D :D :D

At first, I repaired my broken lights... keep in mind the 2300 tractors don't even have a metal guard!

After breaking them both, repairing them and then breaking them again, I replaced them with Kubota lights, much less expensive and a bit smaller, too. It just takes experience to realize those things are sticking out behind you (and out of sight....). Kinda like learning how to carry a guitar around without slamming it into everything....:ashamed:

And yes, a couple of people have moved them around to the inside of the ROPs. I just haven't gotten around to that yet, but it would be a great solution-- providing you can still operate the BH without slamming your head into them, if you have one.
