About 3 weeks ago we saw our 2 guinys nesting in the field. Next day they were out walking around. So I went and picked up 13 eggs. I put them in an old fish tank with a red heat light on them.
Well tonite two of them have hatched. Should I leave them under the heat light tonite or put them in another tank. I don't want to cook them. How long can I leave them in with the eggs.
This is the first time we've hatched eggs and did it makeshift not expecting it to work.
Thanks for any info you can give me.

I think they need to stay under the light for tonight until they dry out and then move to another tank. Chicks need 95 degrees and ducks need 90 degrees but I'm not sure what temp guinea hens need but you could google it no problem. Good luck!

Put the eggs and light on one end. The chicks need some heat and with move toward the cooler end if they need to.

Ok thanks. I will leave the alone tonite and setup another tank in the morning. Will the rest of the fertile
Eggs hatch soon.

If with only 2 hens, it would have taken them a week to lay those eggs. So the others should be staggered being ready to hatch

I only hatched my own eggs a few times, but I used a bright light to see if I had activity in the eggs and "helped" hatch a few because I did not keep the moisture right. Including that, I know nothing about hatching eggs. Good luck.

treat them like chicks from chickens. they need 95 degrees the first week and 5 degrees less per week until they feather out. 3-4 weeks all together. get them medicated starter feed and be sure they know where the water is by dipping their beaks.
