I dropped the hammer today and got a new 6 ft county line tiller. I know it is not a King Cutter, but it is made by Tartar Gate, and they seem to have a decent warranty, and it is American made. The price was pretty good, $1200 and they threw in the gear oil and 2 free hats. I got a bit extra off because it was last year's model, it has a little surface rust, but not too bad. I have everything assembled except the driveshaft. I'll try for some pics tommorrow.

I always see discussions on here about King Kutter vs. County Line. I thought the products were one in the same. I was at TSC earlier this week and they had a County Line and a KK tiller. They looked exactly the same and I'm pretty sure there was a KK label on the County Line version. Now you tell me that County Line is made by Tarter Gate. All these brands seem very incestuous. Are they all possibly made in China?

Anyway, congrats on your new toy. I am wanting a 6 footer as well and your price sounds very good. What size tractor do you have. I have a Kubota 28.5 PTO HP. Do you think it is big enough for a 6 footer?

It depends on what state you live in as to what company makes the equipment TSC brands as County Line.

Let us know how the tarter tiller works out. I am on the look for an upgrade in tiller size from my 48 incher to a 60. The King Kutter model wich seems to win a lot of votes and the tarter brand tiller have a LOT of similarities. The 60" tarter I looked at had a bolt-on torque tube and no park stand. The King kutter I looked at had a park stand and a non-bolt on torque tube. Have not heard anything bad about tarter tillers they just don't seem to be as popular as the King Kutter.

Sir Soze,
Are there there general sales districts or is it just by state - heck maybe I want to go find the overseas stuff - My local TSC and the one across the LA line has the KKII and its a little steep. Maybe now is off season for tillers?
