Just bought a new one to replace my 2150 that was around 14 years old. I love the discussions on this site, but I will admit I am not an expert on tractor repair, but I do have a question.
Before I even moved my new tractor from the driveway to the grass for the first time, I noticed a small plastic plug button on the pavement. After doing some checking, it belongs on the mover deck to cover the grease fittings on the belt pulleys on each side. Both were missing, but I found the one on the driveway. My old 2150 did not have these. Are they really necessary or are they just to keep the lawn clippings out as much as possible?
Cub Cadet wants over $2 for one of these when they probably cost them less than 10 cents. I suspect they were never fully snapped into place in the first place.
Any comments / suggestions would be appreciated. I hate to see these things on a brand new tractor. Otherwise, I loved the first use of my tractor compared to my 2150.
