New Cub Owner CC2542

After two months with my new GT2542 (my first). I have to say that the advice I got from the folks on this site was on the money. I had bought a LT1046 but had not taken delivery from the dealer. After reading this site I decided to purchase the GT. It was more expensive but worth it. I have a fairly steep hill which leads to a wooded area where I keep wood, dirt, and stone. The shaft drive transfers power very smoothly and has no problem pulling a 10 CU FT poly cart up and down. Also cut my mowing time down. I plan to use this machine for more than mowing and it feels like it can handle about anything. Looking forward to adding more attachments eventually.

That’s exactly what I had done MOW, I had put the LT1042 on the CC but when I got home and read some posts, I called and said hold it until I do some research. A dealer in Ohio was very helpful. I emailed him some photos of my hills and he responded with “go GT2542 without a doubt”. I also told him I have been know to drag a dead tree or two from the woods on my property. I am quite happy with the GT2542 except for a few minor issues that can be overcome, like a hour meter that racks up time when you forget to turn off the key. Dumb I know but it happens., and a weak rear hitch pin hole. I am in the process of addressing those issues and will post when its complete.

Gotta remember to turn the key off, or in my case, keep the key out so my kids don't turn it. I did the same as you fellas, but mine was a 1515. I racked up 95 hours on my 1515 and upgraded to a 2180. What a difference. No more hydro belt howl, or a hydro that couldn't pull a core aerator. This will pull until the wheels spin. Way better steering and much more solid.
